COME FOR THE SKILLS. LEAVE WITH THE CONFIDENCE.
Built By Fire is a four-day immersive retreat for women ready to feel stronger, more aware, and more prepared in every room, on every road, and along every trail.
This is more than a self-defense workshop. It's a chance to step away from everyday life, build practical safety skills with expert instructors, and develop the confidence to move through the world with awareness and peace of mind. All of it happens in a supportive, women-only environment built on education, physical practice, mental resilience, wellness, and sisterhood.
Your ticket also includes a day pass to the STRENGTH IN THE CITY Wellness Retreat at Pemberton on Saturday, February 6.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Beginner Firearm Safety
An instructor-led introduction to responsible ownership: safe handling, basic components and terminology, safe storage, and legal considerations. Any live-fire training is conducted only at an appropriate range with qualified instructors and required safety equipment.
Situational Awareness
Learn to recognize warning signs before they escalate, identify exits and safe spaces, build everyday safety habits at home, at work, and while traveling, and trust your instincts.
Boundary Setting & Verbal De-escalation
Practice assertive communication and confident body language, and learn strategies for responding to unwanted attention and defusing tense situations. Your voice is one of your first lines of defense.
Practical Self-Defense
Learn to escape common grabs and holds, defend yourself on the ground, create distance, and use leverage and body mechanics rather than strength alone. All training is adapted to your comfort level and physical ability.
Everyday Safety Strategies
Covers parking lot, garage, and workplace safety; rideshare, public transit, and hotel awareness; and digital privacy and location sharing. You'll leave with your own personal response plan.
Interactive Scenario Training
Work through realistic, instructor-led scenarios to practice boundaries, de-escalation, and decision-making under pressure. Scenarios are built around safety and consent, and you never have to go beyond your own limits.
Instructor Q&A
An open, judgment-free conversation with experienced professionals about your real-life safety questions.

THE WHY
Every woman deserves to feel informed, confident, and empowered to make decisions about her own safety. You don't have to live in fear to take your safety seriously. This weekend is about recognizing your instincts, finding your voice, and knowing you have options. It's strength built from the inside out: mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Come for the skills. Leave with the confidence.
