About Crankdat

Born Christian Smith and raised in Ohio, Crankdat built his early following by uploading remixes to SoundCloud, developing a style that paired recognizable hooks with explosive bass production. Those early releases established the foundation for a career spanning dubstep, trap, and melodic electronic music, with a focus on sharp contrasts and immediate live impact. His catalog includes Kneel Before Me with SLANDER featuring Asking Alexandria, alongside releases such as Falling, Redo, and STFU, demonstrating the range between his melodic instincts and heavier productions. Collaborations with artists including DJ Snake and Marshmello have further expanded his reach, while appearances at EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, and Tomorrowland have brought his music to major international stages. His live sets are shaped by custom edits, unreleased material, and abrupt changes in energy, extending the remix-driven approach that first introduced him to electronic audiences. More recent releases include Open the Pit, Movement, and Fux With Us, continuing to develop a catalog built around both memorable ideas and physical intensity. From early internet discovery to large-scale headline performances, Crankdat has maintained a clear creative focus: music designed to provoke a reaction the moment it reaches a crowd.
