JIJI's Jazz Club welcomes Luke Titus to Slow Jamz Gallery on August 22 for an evening of experimental, genre-blurring music, with an opening set from Dani Offline.

A drummer, composer, producer, and bandleader originally from Chicago and now based in Los Angeles, Luke Titus brings together a quintet of musicians who are from or have lived in Chicago and represent different aspects of what the city's musicianship sounds like.

On the new “Three Songs” EP, the band explores a fusion between Jazz, Drum and Bass, Rock and Experimental genres culminating in Luke’s original compositions and arrangements of a few classic favorites. Recorded in March of 2026 at Lucy’s Meat Market, a local Los Angeles recording studio, the project represents both complex musicianship and simplicity of concept. There were no edits and it remains true to the group’s recording from that day, which encapsulates much of what the group's intention is for this music.

As both a longtime collaborator across genres and an artist continually pushing the boundaries of contemporary jazz, Luke's work feels equally rooted in tradition and forward-thinking experimentation. Joined by Lenard Simpson(saxophone), Brian Sanborn (guitar), Julius Tucker (keys), and Parker Grogan (bass), the quintet presents a set where technical mastery serves curiosity, groove, and collective expression.
